Hi kiddos, ASASIpintar is a one-year foundation programme which has only run for 3 years so far since 2012, you guys will be the fifth batch (there are 2 batches in year 2013). So what is ASASIpintar exactly? FAQ 2: Bagaimanakah perjalanan saya selepas ASASIpintar? 1) Transfer credit (subject to change for your batch) Sesetengah kursus-kursus di UKM untuk pengajian Ijazah Pertama mempunyai kemudahan 'credit transfer' untuk tujuan pemotongan subjek daripada kursus Ijazah Pertama, terutamanya untuk kursus-kursus Ijazah Pertama yang telah diambil oleh pelajar social science semasa di ASASIpintar. Untuk sesetengah kursus seperti di Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi, Fakulti SSK, Fakulti Perubatan dan seumpamanya, hanya ada beberapa subjek tertentu yang boleh dialihkan kreditnya. FAQ 3: Where will my accommodation be in UKM? This is a brief introduction to the accommodations at presence when you are studying in asasi pintar. How about if we begin with your learning ground? So, for asasi pintar students’ batch 2015/2016, here’s something you must bear in mind. All students will most probably be staying at kolej keris mas of UKM Bangi, but then your faculty and learning centre will be in several places due to the number of students including pusat permata pintar Negara (which is still in UKM Bangi) and also other faculties or perhaps in Kolej Keris Mas (subject to change). Pusat permata pintar Negara is basically a high school set up for gifted students, but had just recently opened up its foundation progamme ( well, the batch is just fresh out of the oven) as it caters to pre-UKM degree course. FAQ 4: How is the transport system in UKM? Do I get to travel around, or am I confined? How about food? And also dress code? ITEM 1: TRANSPORTATION 1. From residential college to Permata building Based on our batch, transportation will be provided specially for AP students. A bus will take u in the morning, and take you back in the evening. If you are staying at Kolej Keris Mas, you can just walk back because the distance (Kolej Keris Mas and Permata) is like 30 mins (or less) of walking. So if your class ends earlier than other class, you can either walk back to your hostel or just hang around Permata while running some errands or doing our own works, like completing assignments, doing group discussion, etc to wait for the bus for other class. 2. Travel round UKM There are 4 buses, 3 UKM ones, which are, Zon 3U, Zon 2, Zon 6 and the last one is not under UKM which is RapidKL. FAQ 5: What are the subjects that I need to take in ASASI? PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS BASED ON 2014/2015 BATCH'S EXPERIENCE. THERE MIGHT BE CHANGES ON HOW IT WORKS FOR THE NEW BATCH. Below is the subject list for science students in 2014/2015: For Sem 1, we had 8 subjects - Bio 1, Chem 1, Phy 1, Logical Reasoning (Calculus), Language and Literary Appreciation (LLA), Statistics, Research Skills and Pembangunan Jati Diri Kebangsaan. For Sem 2, we had 7 subjects - Bio 2, Chem 2, Phy 2, Vector Calculus, Critical Thinking, Research Project and Kepimpinan dan Membuat Keputusan Each subject is designed based on the American AP (Advance Placement) syllabus incorporated with some degree level syllabus. Difficulty level of all subjects varies individually, but from our experience, the killer subject for Sem 1 would be Logical Reasoning, as well as Vector Calculus and Phy 2 for Sem 2. FAQ 6: Bursary Holder Inquiries About Bursary holders, here are a few explanations about it. AsasiPintar is one of the pre-university programmes that are recognised by the Bursary. Bursary students will receive sort of a scholarship that includes your registration fees, your living expenses, Muet fees and accommodation fees, for both semesters. However you will need to maintain a CGPA of 3.75 and above throughout your studies there to continue this scholarship. Furthermore, Bursary holders who manage to maintain their CGPA and receive a place in the listed universities (UKM is in the list also with other overseas uni, you can check if you want) will be awarded with a JPA scholarship for your degree studies.The admin permata is very helpful with bursary students' needs and problems. Part 2 of  this post on ASASIpintar. This post I'll mix languages and will mostly will be typing in Malay. Kali nak cerita pengalaman sepanjang duduk dekat Kolej Keris Mas, UKM. For short, panggil KKM je ok. Sebenarnya bila dah masuk universiti bukan asrama pun, kita duduk kat kolej kediaman. Kalau kolej kediaman di UKM biasanya sebilik dua orang.
